Trauma can shape how safe we feel in our bodies, our relationships, and the world. Relational trauma — including emotional, sexual, and physical abuse, or neglect — often leaves lasting effects on self-worth, trust, and the ability to feel close to others. The impact can show up long after the events themselves, in anxiety, depression, difficulty with intimacy, or patterns that are hard to explain.
My research and clinical work have focused on complex trauma and its effects, including its links to substance use and health. In therapy, we move at a pace that feels safe to you, building enough stability and trust to gradually understand and process what happened. The goal is not to relive the past but to loosen its grip, so it no longer quietly runs your present.
This work asks for care and patience, and you don’t have to do it alone.
