Dr. Dawn Tennenbaum, PhD, MA
Telehealth Clinical Psychologist —
Individual & Couples Therapy
in California & Oregon
Welcome. Finding the right therapist for you is important, so I’m here to share a little bit about myself and my thoughts on what helps people. As a California- and Oregon-licensed clinical psychologist, I offer individual and couples therapy entirely by telehealth, so we can work together from anywhere in either state.
I hope I can help you.
Therapy
Therapy can help you feel better and it can help you change your life. It can improve your moods, health, and your relationships with your self and others. In therapy you may focus on your self-esteem, finding purpose/meaning, reducing symptoms and underlying issues, and improving your overall quality of life. Together we will determine your goals, develop a deep understanding of your experiences, and figure out how to help you in your life now.
Within the context of a unique and safe therapeutic relationship, I encourage patients to be deeply honest and explore thoughts, emotions, and patterns. My therapeutic stance is relational, warm, and challenging.
“It’s a joy to be hidden and a disaster not to be found.”
Psychological Services
Sessions are 45 minutes, 1 or 2 meetings per week, conducted over secure video for clients across California and Oregon.
Individual Therapy
People often seek therapy when they are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, empty, depressed, dissatisfied with work and relationships, or when they have been struggling with self-sabotaging behaviors. Others seek therapy after a loss, during life transitions, or simply to improve their quality of life. Maybe you are curious about how your early experiences impact you now. Therapy can help by creating a space to explore and confront parts of your self that may be causing distress.
Couples Therapy
Couples may come to therapy to improve the quality of their relationship, or to discuss issues around intimacy, commitment, or parenting. Others have experienced significant frustration, conflict, or infidelity and are wondering if they can salvage the relationship. Some feel stuck in the same fights, or have grown apart and wonder if they can find passion for each other again. Therapy can help resolve old issues, as well as develop new ways of communicating and understanding each other.
I am affirming of LGBTQ+, kink, and poly/open relationships.
